A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Banbury is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time role supporting both the Autism Resource Base (ARB) and the wider mainstream school.

The school is known for its amazing Headteacher, supportive SLT, and caring team. The ARB caters for a small class of 10 pupils or fewer, supported by two Teaching Assistants and a specialist teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident HLTA looking to make a real difference in a nurturing, specialist setting while maintaining involvement with mainstream learners.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across both the Autism Resource Base and mainstream primary classes

  • Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions with pupils with SEND, including autism

  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation, differentiation, and classroom support

  • Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and inclusive learning

  • Contributing to pupil progress tracking, EHCP targets, and classroom assessments

  • Collaborating with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to support individual needs

What we're looking for:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience - Essential

  • Previous experience supporting children with autism and/or complex needs

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Calm, resilient, and confident working within both SEN and mainstream settings

  • A team player who is committed to inclusive education and pupil development
