Buyer - Motorsport Sector

We're on the lookout for a sharp, results-driven Buyer to join this elite Motorsport team in Banbury - someone who thrives under pressure and is passionate about precision, performance, and getting things done.

In this role, you won't just be placing orders - you'll be shaping supply chains, driving commercial value, and making sure every component arrives on time, to spec, and within budget. You'll work across technical teams, manage key supplier relationships, and play a pivotal role in supporting some of the most advanced motorsport engineering projects in the world.

What you'll be doing:

  • Securing the supply of components and materials in line with requirements, budgets, and deadlines
  • Benchmarking products and suppliers to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance
  • Leading and supporting supplier negotiations, contract implementation, and long-term relationships
  • Monitoring and improving supplier performance using robust KPIs
  • Providing strategic insights on cost-saving initiatives, stock control, and procurement planning
  • Contributing to departmental goals including cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and stock optimisation
  • Supporting cross-functional teams with procurement advice and best practices

What they are looking for:

  • A confident, commercially minded individual with strong negotiation skills
  • A solid understanding of car component manufacturing and supply chain dynamics
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (IFS preferred) and strong Excel skills
  • Excellent time management and the ability to handle changing priorities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • An eye for detail, a drive for accuracy, and a natural sense of organisation
  • Ideally CIPS qualified, with a working knowledge of contract law and purchase terms
  • Experience in motorsport or a high-performance engineering environment is a plus
