Maintenance Shift Technician
We are recruiting for a permanent Maintenance Shift Technician for our Banbury based client. In this role, you will provide maintenance and technical support to assembly operations, helping the team achieve departmental goals and business plan targets. You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks throughout your shift, ensuring plant parameters and set points are monitored, controlled, and consistently maintained.
As a Maintenance Shift Technician, you will need to have/be:
- Time-served mechanical/electrical apprenticeship.
- IOSH trained.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of MAFACT processes and principles (internal training).
- Able to work independently and communicate effectively with colleagues across all functions and levels of the business.
- Experience with preventative maintenance techniques and system controls (CMMS).
- Understanding of CDM regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Professional and respectful manner.

Details:
- Salary: 50, 960
- Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 2 week shift rotation - Monday to Thursday 6.00am - 4.00pm and 4.00pm - 2.00am
- Location: Banbury (fully onsite)

Role of Maintenance Shift Technician:
Safety & Environmental
- Ensure full adherence to Health & Safety and Environmental policies.
- Support compliance with IATF 16949 and current certification standards.
- Participate in accident investigations and report all near misses.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and Safe System of Work documentation.
- Ensure contractors are correctly inducted and working under valid permits.
- Maintain 5S standards within your area.
- Ensure correct PPE usage across the team.
- Act appropriately and responsibly during emergency situations.
Quality
- Provide rapid response to equipment issues to support consistent product quality.
- Contribute to 8D processes, problem solving, and risk management.
- Work to standardised operating procedures.
- Conduct process and plant audits, escalating issues as needed.
Timing / Operational Efficiency
- Use the CMMS system effectively and recommend improvements.
- Manage work requests to support operational performance.
- Participate in A3 problem-solving activities.
- Maintain an organised spares inventory and ensure accurate booking of goods and services.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and technology.
- Follow escalation procedures for downtime, quality, or performance concerns.
Cost & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on safety, uptime, plant optimisation, error proofing, and cost reduction.
- Participate in the company CIP scheme.
- Reduce waste within maintenance processes.
- Support energy-saving initiatives, ensuring efficient energy usage especially during weekends.
