The Role

As a Commodity Buyer, you will play a key role in managing indirect and capital purchasing activities to support company goals around cost-efficiency, quality, and supplier performance. Reporting to the Assistant Purchasing Manager, youll be at the heart of supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and challenge purchase requisitions to secure the best value.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to fulfil urgent or complex procurement needs.
  • Lead supplier benchmarking and negotiation for capital purchases.
  • Support KPI reporting and lead monthly MRO reviews.
  • Manage service contracts, rental and lease agreements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through spend analysis and trend tracking.
  • Champion continuous improvement and support strategic purchasing objectives.

What Were Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years experiencein a busy manufacturing purchasing environment.
  • Provennegotiation skillsand confident dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Stronganalytical skillsand a proactive, self-motivated attitude.
  • Commercially aware, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
  • Experience withSAPand ideallyCIPS qualified(or working toward).
  • A fullUK Driving Licenceis essential.
