Job Summary:We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join our team at a secondary school in Bangor, North Wales. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that inspire students to explore British, Welsh, and world history. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about developing historical thinking and fostering a deep understanding of the past’s relevance to today’s world.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Wales and/or England (as applicable).
- Teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 History, with potential for Key Stage 5 (A-Level) depending on experience.
- Promote critical thinking, historical inquiry, and independent learning.
- Assess, record, and report on student progress in accordance with school policies.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practice.
- A degree in History or a related subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Experience teaching History at secondary level.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Knowledge of Welsh history and culture.
- Ability to teach through the medium of Welsh (desirable but not essential).
- Experience with digital learning tools and blended learning approaches.
