Our Outstanding school in London seeks a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Teacher of English to join our thriving department and make a profound difference to the literary understanding, analytical prowess, and communicative capabilities of our students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and, crucially, Key Stage 5, commencing in September 2025.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering highly effective and stimulating English lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs and aspirations of our students across all key stages, drawing on texts and themes relevant to London's rich cultural landscape.
  • Fostering students' deep understanding of key literary concepts, genres, and critical approaches, with a strong emphasis on the comprehensive demands of the A-Level specifications for both Language and Literature.
  • Encouraging rigorous analytical thinking, sophisticated essay writing, and confident oral communication.
  • Assessing and tracking student progress in English across all key stages, providing insightful and constructive feedback, and implementing effective intervention strategies to ensure exceptional outcomes, particularly for A-Level students.
  • Contributing actively to the development, implementation, and rigorous review of the English curriculum across all key stages, ensuring alignment with examination specifications and providing extensive opportunities for literary enrichment and creative expression.
  • Utilising and contributing to the development of high-quality English resources, including diverse literary texts, digital platforms, and engaging communicative activities.
  • Contributing to extracurricular activities that promote English language and literature within the school community (e.g., debating club, creative writing workshops, school magazine).
