An outstanding school in Barking is seeking a passionate and dedicated Permanent Teacher of History to join our thriving History Department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3, 4, and particularly 5 (A-Level), fostering a deep understanding of the past and the skills of historical inquiry and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a strong capability and enthusiasm for teaching A-Level History.
- Cultivate a curiosity about historical events, societies, and interpretations in all students.
- Contribute to the development and enrichment of a challenging and engaging History curriculum across all key stages, including A-Level.
- Assess and monitor student progress effectively, providing insightful feedback and targeted support, particularly for students pursuing A-Level History.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the History Department to share best practices and enhance the teaching of history at all levels.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A strong degree in History or a closely related field.
- Proven ability to teach engaging History lessons at secondary level, with a clear aptitude and desire to teach A-Level History.
- Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of the History curriculum across all key stages, including the A-Level specifications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills, with the ability to inspire and challenge students at all levels.
