Salary: £90- 95 day (dependent on experience and/or qualifications) — weekly pay (PAYE)

The Role

A well-established special educational needs (SEN) setting in Barking, a short walk from Barkign Riverside station are looking for a dedicated and patient Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team on a supply basis. The successful candidate will be supporting young people aged 3–19 with a range of learning difficulties and social, emotional, or behavioural needs as they prepare for adulthood.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about empowering students with additional needs to develop independence, confidence, and key life skills in a supportive environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building positive and trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and wellbeing
• Providing behaviour and emotional regulation support, promoting positive decision-making and resilience
• Supporting students in both classroom and vocational learning settings
• Acting as a consistent role model, promoting independence and social development
• Assisting with personalised learning plans and helping students achieve their individual goals
• Collaborating with teaching staff, therapists, and families to deliver holistic, person-centred support
• Encouraging participation in community and work-related learning opportunities

About You

• Experience supporting young people with special educational needs, SEMH, or behavioural needs is highly desirable
• Calm, empathetic, and proactive in your approach
• Able to build rapport quickly and maintain professional boundaries
• A team player with a genuine passion for helping young adults succeed
