Exceptional Opportunity: Special needs teaching assistant to support primary aged students with Autism.

SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to present a unique and rewarding role for an experienced special needs teaching assistant to a wonderful school in Dagenham. It is a mainstream primary school with a resourced provision (ARP) for students with a diagnosis of Autism.

Role:

As a special needs teaching assistant you will provide support for primary-aged students with Autism. You will support students 1:1 and in small groups, collaborating with other members of staff.

Your role will be to facilitate the child's participation in classroom activities, promote social interaction, and support their individual learning and development.?

Requirements:

  • Experience as a special needs teaching assistant, ideally with Autism
  • Understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
