Step into a key support role where your technical expertise will directly enhance the digital learning environment of a thriving secondary school in Barnet. We are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and solution-focused IT Technician to provide vital on-site IT support for staff and students.
As an IT Technician, you’ll become the go-to person for day-to-day IT troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support within the school. This position is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in educational technology and the initiative to keep systems running smoothly in a fast-paced academic environment.
Responsibilities of the IT Technician:-
Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across the school.

Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, AV equipment, and mobile devices.

Monitor and maintain the school’s IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Support staff and students with login, password, and software access issues.

Maintain asset logs and ensure all IT equipment is secure, up-to-date, and compliant with school policies.

Assist with the setup and support of IT resources for classrooms, meetings, and events.

Troubleshoot basic network problems and escalate more complex issues to external providers where necessary.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive school data.

Act as a reliable and supportive IT Technician, upholding high service standards at all times.

Prior experience in an IT support or technician role, ideally in an education or public sector environment.

Strong understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, hardware maintenance, and networking basics.

Familiarity with school systems (e.g., SIMS, remote desktop software, smartboards) is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.

Proactive, organised, and able to prioritise tasks independently.

Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service.
