This School is an independent therapeutic special school in Barnet who are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join their growing team in September. They support children and young people with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, anxiety, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges (SEMH).

The Role

Within this role, you will work alongside their outstanding teaching and support staff to help students reach their fullest potential inside and outside the classroom. You will be supporting teaching and learning in the class as well as implementing and supporting the targets set out in the Individual Education Plan. You'll support in creating a happy, challenging, and effective learning environment as well as establish a rapport with children, engaging them, keeping them focused and motivated.

The School are looking for: 

 

  • Experience working with SEN or a genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs

  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and learning

  • A strong team player with good communication skills

  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training and development

  • Previous experience with Autism, SEMH, or speech and language needs is desirable
