If so, you could be the perfect candidate for this Reading Mentor position in Barnet.What is a Literacy Mentor?As a Literacy Mentor, you'll work 1:1/small groups with secondary pupils who need extra support to improve their reading skills. You'll help them discover the joy of books, build their confidence, and develop a lifelong love of reading. Whether it's through subject related literature or extra-curricular materials, your goal is to improve their literacy skills. You will mainly be working with EAL and SEN pupils.Key responsibilities:* Plan and deliver engaging interventions to aid progress.* Feed progress back to the Subject Teachers, SENCo and parents.* Be creative with activities and materials to suit different learning styles.* Promote reading for pleasure.* Support SLT with extra-curricular activities such as book clubs and reading incentives.Requirements:* A UK degree in a Humanities subject.
