A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Materials Controller to join a well-established and industry leading Manufacturing company in Earby. This is a temporary role with a view to become permanent

You will be responsible for ensuring the correct products are available on time to meet the requirements for our customers. You will be the main point of contact for vendors and key business stakeholders, and as a result, youll need to ensure effective communication is achieved, alongside development and maintenance of relationships.

You will be self-motivated with a keen eye for detail, with the ability to confidently solve issues through prioritising and initiative. A can-do approach with a flexible and positive nature, youll be happy to deal with the analytical aspects of this job. Experience in a materials or procurement role will be beneficial, with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and experience of the mechanics around MRP systems.

The Role:

  • Ensuring materials are delivered in a timely manner and the supplier achieves high on time delivery performance (>90%)
  • Ensuring the provision of relevant data to support supplier discussions or internal review
  • Facilitating any quality issues that may obstruct supply with relevant departments
  • Supporting the resolution of any invoice queries for delivery discrepancies
  • Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the team
  • Visiting Suppliers as required
  • Ensuring that the status of all orders and deliveries is accurately maintained.
  • Support other teams and functions as required

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Good IT skills - specifically Excel
  • Good attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with teams
  • Understanding of ERP systems
  • Previous experience within a similar role within a fast-paced engineering environment preferred but not essential
  • This is a Temporary to permanent role.
