Stores Driver

- Core Hours: Wednesday to Friday, 07:30 – 15:30
We are seeking a professional and efficient Stores Driver to join our team on a temporary basis. This role involves driving vehicles up to 3½ tonnes carrying capacity, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of materials between various locations within the Borough.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Drive vehicles up to and including 3½ tonnes carrying capacity.
- Perform relevant vehicle checks to ensure compliance with legislative road transport standards.
- Manage vehicle fuelling through the approved fuelling system.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the vehicle.
- Transport materials between the depot, properties, and agreed locations around the Borough.
- Collect materials from suppliers and deliver to various locations.
- Secure all materials for delivery on the vehicle using appropriate straps, anchor points, and containers.
- Keep the Stores and yard areas tidy and clear of rubbish.
- Load and unload materials, adhering to manual handling procedures.
- Assist with picking orders for delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Possess a valid driving licence with a minimum of 2 years driving experience in loading and delivering goods.
- Ability to lift and carry a variety of materials of different sizes, shapes, and weights.
- Knowledge of Manual Handling and its application to daily duties.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service; additional hours may be required.
