Due to increasing demand of products, our client are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join thier team in Barnsley (Yorkshire) as an Engineering Electrician.

Job Description:

The successful applicant will be responsible for the continuous running of machinery and equipment to ensure budgeted production targets are met.

Awareness of health and safety must always be demonstrated in the workplace.

Key duties & responsibilities.

  • Carry out routine mechanical maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
  • Diagnose breakdown problems
  • Fit new parts and ensure equipment is working correctly
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (P.P.M.) on all machinery
  • Control maintenance tools, stores, and equipment
  • Deal with electrical breakdowns, unplanned problems, and repairs
  • Work with specialist brick manufacturing equipment including modern programmable logic-controlled machinery
  • Ensure there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns
  • Liaise with other engineering and production colleagues
  • Build up and repair spare parts in electrical workshops to ensure they are ready for use.

The Candidate:

  • Apprentice trained (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Experience in fast paced manufacturing settings
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and multitask effectively
