Thrive Group Wakefield is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor/ Senior Vehicle Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of Fleet & Machines. This is a key leadership role, ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of technicians and apprentices, ensuring all work meets required standards.
  • Oversee servicing, inspections, and repairs across a diverse fleet, including preparation for MOT/HGV tests.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules, manage budgets, and control operational costs.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
  • Promote a safe and positive workplace culture focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Qualified to Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Maintenance (essential).
  • Level 4 qualification (or willingness to achieve within 12 months).
  • Hold a Category C driving licence.
  • Proven experience in fleet maintenance management and team leadership.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver results.
  • Committed to safety, quality, and service excellence.

Desirable

  • Level 4 Management Qualification or IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
  • Experience working within a Local Authority or large fleet environment.
