With a global customer base and a reputation for engineering excellence, our client is expanding their team and looking for a Manufacturing Project Engineer to drive New Product Introduction (NPI) and Development (NPD) at their site in Barnsley.

 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead the transition from concept to production for new and improved products.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams including design, prototyping, and fabrication.
  • Oversee the full NPI lifecycle using a structured 8-stage gate process.
  • Design and deliver jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support efficient manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive engineering change processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion automation and innovation to enhance quality and throughput.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong 3D/2D CAD skills (CREO or similar).
  • Proven experience leading NPI projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of fabrication, welding, and machining processes.
  • A methodical mindset with excellent planning and communication skills.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a passion for problem-solving and innovation.
