My client in the Cudworth area of Barnsley are looking for a candidate with Mechanical Fitting / Plant.
Experience.
This role involves assisting with the safe and efficient handling, positioning, and installation of mechanical infrastructure, ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and in line with site safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Install mechanical components including pipework, brackets, supports, and ducting.
Operate plant equipment (FLT, scissor lift, cherry picker) to transport, position, and install materials at height or in confined spaces
Interpret mechanical drawings and layout plans to ensure accurate installation
Assist with assembly and alignment of mechanical systems and equipment
Use hand and power tools to complete mechanical tasks safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with site safety standards
Follow all health and safety protocols, including safe use of lifting equipment and working at height
Requirements
Previous welding experience.
Proven experience in mechanical installation or utilities work
Competent in operating FLT, scissor lift, and cherry picker (valid licenses/certifications required)
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents
Strong understanding of manual handling and safe lifting practices
Comfortable working at height and in physically demanding environments
Good communication and teamwork skills
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
