Job Title: Residential Conveyancing AssistantSalary: £25,000 - £27,000Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire Contract: Full time, PermanentWe have an excellent opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant to join our expanding and award-winning Residential Property team, based at our Barnsley office. About the RoleYou will provide key administrative and legal support to our Residential Property department, ensuring adherence to established procedures and compliance standards. This is a great opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Processing tasks using Digital Dictation software (BigHand)
  • Working with a Case Management System
  • Requesting property searches, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks, and final searches
  • Submitting Land Registry applications and responding to requisitions
  • Preparing files for client meetings
  • Assisting with file opening and closure, as required
  • Handling telephone calls, client enquiries and third-party requests
  • Managing incoming emails, post, scanning, and responding to correspondence
  • Supporting the Senior Fee Earner's inbox on their non-working days
  • Ensuring compliance with the firm's procedures and quality standards
  • Providing cost-effective support to Fee Earners within your team and the wider department

Person Specification

  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential
  • Basic understanding of legal correspondence
  • Proficient IT and word processing skills essential
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to the firm's values and strategic goals
  • GCSE English at Grade C/4 or above required
  • Organised, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively
