The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting Class 1 (C&E Drivers) on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Barnsley.

Hours:Choose your own days of work and start times by providing a 2 hour window from 10AM through to 11PM, please note you must be able to work every Friday OR Sunday.

Pay Rates:

  • (PAYE):Monday to Thursday 16.87, Friday 17.60, Saturday 18.29 & Sunday 18.61
  • (ROLLEDUP):Monday to Thursday 18.91, Friday 19.72, Saturday 20.50, Sunday 20.86
  • (NIGHTS): Monday to Thursday 17.59, Friday 18.10, Saturday 20.69 & Sunday 21.96 PAYE
  • (NIGHTS ROLLEDUP):Monday to Thursday 19.71, Friday 20.28, Saturday 23.19, Sunday 24.61

Location: Barnsley, S74.

Job Type: Ongoing.

The role:

  • Trunking between depots, ensuring timely and safe delivery of parcels.
  • Reversing in the yard and manoeuvring vehicles with precision.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.
  • Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.
  • Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
  • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • New passes welcome!
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Successful completion of assessment, including theory element which is two questionnaires based on drivers' hours and road laws and a practical element which will be based on yard reversing and a short driving test.
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A safety-first mindset.
