The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting Class 1 Shunters to join EVRi Barnsley.
Shifts:6am-6pm OR 6pm-6am working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
Location:Barnsley, s74
Job Type: Ongoing position.
Pay rates:
- Weekdays: 17.21
- Weekday nights: 18.59
- Saturday day: 18.87
- Saturday night: 21.69
- Sunday day: 19.20
- Sunday night: 22.96
The role:
Perform non-stop shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations.
Safely manoeuvre vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
Conduct pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
Coordinate with the yard and dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
Report any defects or issues promptly to the maintenance team.
Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
Assist with other yard duties as needed.
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
1 years' experience preferred but not essential.
Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
Successful completion of training.
Full understanding of WTD legislation.
Excellent communication skills.
A safety-first mindset.
