Production Foreperson

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting:

We are looking for a Production Foreperson for a permanent position based with our client based in Barnsley.

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Salary is 38,000 to 50,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory
• Helping to prioritise and allocate workloads to team leaders, specialists, operators including fabricators/welders to ensure production levels are met
• Ensure quality standards are met to include the inspection of WIP and finished products
• Attend and actively participate in the daily production meeting
• Ensure H&S standards and good housekeeping on the factory floor are adhered to
• Toolbox Talks
• Recruitment & Training
• HR of factory staff (incl. Back to work interviews, disciplinary, etc)

Key Characteristics

• The successful applicant must have experience working within a metal working environment and ideally have experience of mills, metal casting and presses
• Minimum of 3 Years supervisory experience working within a factory environment
• Experience of metal working machinery, including saws, routers and welding, not essential but would be helpful
• Experience of Tig/Oxy hydrogen welding techniques would be a nice to have but not essential
• Ability to prioritise and manage workload according to requirements and work to tight timescales
• Able to develop effective working relationships with employees
• Ability to read technical production drawings
• Metallurgical knowledge, experience and working will be a premium
• Used to working with data, data input and analysis
• Comfortable with excel, additional courses will be provided as necessary
