About the Company

Our client is a well established and reputable civil engineering contractor with a strong track record delivering high quality infrastructure projects across the region. With a project portfolio ranging from £1m to £15m, they are experiencing sustained growth and are now looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their commercial/pre-construction team.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will play a key part in the preparation, coordination and submission of accurate and competitive tenders for civil engineering projects. You will work closely with the pre-construction, engineering and operational teams to ensure bids are robust, compliant, and aligned with the company's commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects valued between £1m - £15m

   

• Analyse drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope and requirements

   

• Lead the take-off process and produce accurate bills of quantities

   

• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations

   

• Evaluate risk, pricing strategies and value engineering opportunities

   

• Work closely with the bid and project teams to ensure high quality tender submissions

   

• Attend site visits and client meetings as required

   

• Contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes and systems

   

About You

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector

   

• Strong understanding of civil engineering construction methods, materials and pricing

   

• Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications with accuracy

   

• Proficient with estimating software and MS Office

   

• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills

   

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

   

• Highly organised, detail driven, and capable of managing multiple tenders simultaneously
