Feel like you've outgrown your current Accounts Assistant role?
Maybe you're doing bits of payroll, a dash of purchase ledger, but not enough of either to really move forward. Or you've hit a ceiling and want something with more depth, more responsibility, and more room to grow.
This accounts assistant job could be the step up you've been looking for.
You'll earn up to £30,000, and there's genuine progression here. The business is one of the UK's fastest growing retailers, with over 100 stores and counting. It's a full-time permanent role, and you'll work closely with the Finance Director - not buried in a back office, but right at the heart of the team.
There's a lot of variety in this one. You'll support purchase ledger processing and payments, do daily bank recs, manage credit card receipts, and take ownership of end-to-end payroll for around 1,800 staff. That includes fortnightly and monthly payrolls, plus RTI submissions, pensions, and compliance.
This accounts assistant role also gives you the chance to influence and improve admin processes as the business grows. It's the kind of job where your input actually counts.
You'll need at least a year's experience in a similar accounts assistant or payroll role. Experience with Sage 50 payroll would help, and you'll need to be confident in Excel - pivot tables, vlookups, that kind of thing. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to hit deadlines are essential.
In return, you'll get:
- Salary up to £30,000
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Pension contributions
- Genuine career development in a fast-paced business
