Tenancy & Neighbourhood Officer
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Tenancy & Neighbourhood Officer to deliver a highly visible, effective, and customer-focused housing management service.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in local communities, with strong tenancy management, estate management, and community safety experience.
Hybrid role - 3 days per week on site
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a visible, proactive tenancy and neighbourhood management service across a defined patch
- Respond to tenancy breaches, including anti-social behaviour, within agreed timescales using appropriate support or enforcement action
- Manage void properties to ensure quick turnaround and help meet key performance targets
- Carry out welcome visits and support new tenants with tenancy obligations and practical advice
- Identify and act on safeguarding concerns and customer vulnerabilities through assessments and support referrals
- Work with the Lettings Team to ensure fair allocations and sustainable communities
- Engage with tenants' groups, local representatives and community organisations to support local initiatives
- Work with residents and partners to improve estate environments and organise clean-up campaigns
- Complete estate inspections and take follow-up action on repairs and communal area concerns
- Build strong local knowledge and feed into multi-agency meetings, including police and support services
- Support low-level tenancy needs and escalate complex issues when necessary
About You:
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in social housing, including estate or tenancy management or community safety roles
- The ability to work independently, manage a varied caseload, and meet performance targets
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a positive, solution-focused approach
- Confidence to deal with challenging situations and a clear understanding of tenancy enforcement procedures
- Working knowledge of safeguarding processes and community support pathways
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required
Essential Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in housing or a related field
- Strong understanding of housing management, anti-social behaviour, and tenancy sustainment
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evening or weekend work to meet community needs
