Role: Mental Health Support Worker
Contract: 6 week contract (potential temp to perm), 20 + hours per week.
Pay: 13 per hour

We are looking for a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to support individuals in crisis. You will assess needs, provide emotional guidance, and facilitate group and one-on-one engagement, helping clients access mainstream services. Experience in mental health, motivation skills, and the ability to understand client needs are essential.

You be part of a small team in Barnstaple, you be a key member of the drop in service that operates between the hours on 6pm - 11pm Wed - Sun.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to people with mental health problems, in a drop in centre in Barnstaple.
  • Work collaboratively with local agencies.
  • Engage clients experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Signpost and facilitate group activities.

About You:

  • Experience in mental health, with an understanding of complex needs.
  • Ability to engage, inspire, and motivate others.
  • Be a good listener and the ability to empathise with people.
  • Excellent communication skills.
