Mechanical Inspector
Barnstaple, On-Site 5 Days per week
Up to £30k Per Annum Depending on Experience

We have an opportunity for amechanical inspector who isresponsible for thoroughly inspecting mechanical components and production assemblies during the manufacturing process. You will be ensuring they meet quality standards, industry regulations, and company specifications by conducting visual checks, measurements, and tests, identifying defects, and documenting findings to maintain product quality and safety throughout production.

What youll be doing
  • Performing detailed inspections of mechanical parts
  • Documenting any defects or non-conformances found during inspection, raising non-conformance reports (NCRs), and collaborating with production teams to address quality issues.
  • Maintaining detailed inspection records, documenting test results, and generating comprehensive inspection reports for review by quality management and engineering teams.
  • Working closely with operators, technicians, and engineers to identify potential quality issues early on and implement corrective actions.
The skills you need
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measuring equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of quality control methodologies and documentation practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in mechanical inspection (depending on industry)
