The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional and customer focused Service Advisor to join a well established and respected main dealer based in Barnstaple. This position offers a fantastic work life balance with shift based weekday hours and a light Saturday rota (minimum 1 in 3, possibly 1 in 4), working in a supportive dealership environment known for delivering manufacturer approved servicing and outstanding customer experiences.

In this key front of house role, you’ll act as the vital link between customers and the workshop team, ensuring a seamless, transparent, and high-quality service journey. You’ll join a modern, forward-thinking dealership with a strong team spirit and manufacturer backed training.

Responsibilities:

Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner, handling service enquiries both in person and over the phone.

Book vehicles accurately for servicing, MOTs, repairs, and diagnostic appointments.

Provide clear and transparent estimates, explaining any required work in customer-friendly language.

Liaise effectively with the workshop team to track job progress and keep customers informed.

Process invoices, warranty paperwork, and general service administration promptly and accurately.

Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records in line with brand standards.

Deliver an exceptional standard of customer care to ensure satisfaction and long-term loyalty.

Experience & Skills:

Previous experience in the motor trade is preferred, but applicants with a strong customer service background will be considered.

Confident communicator with excellent organisation and multitasking skills.

Understanding of vehicle servicing, repairs, or MOT processes is beneficial.

Comfortable using dealer management and booking systems.

Strong attention to detail, with the ability to stay calm and focused in a busy environment.

Full UK driving licence is required.

Package & Benefits:

Basic salary: £31,000 per annum

On Target Earnings: Up to £42,000 per annum – uncapped bonus structure

Working hours: Shift patterns: 07:30 – 16:00 or 08:30 – 17:00 (Monday to Friday)

Saturday rota: minimum 1 in 3, potentially 1 in 4 (mornings only)
