Structural EngineersLocation: Barrow-in-Furness (2 site visits every 2 weeks)Duration: 6-month initial contractHours: 37 hours per weekRate: £52.50/hr PAYE or £70.87/hr Umbrella  We are recruiting three Structural Engineers to join a leading defence programme in Barrow-in-Furness, working within a large systems and structural engineering team supporting submarine build activities across the Dreadnought, Astute, and SSNA classes.  Join a 70-strong multidisciplinary team covering Propulsion Systems, Steering Gear, Hull Mechanics, Outfit Design. The team is responsible for structural assessments supporting the build phase of the submarine programme. Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Strong Hand Calculations and FEA analysis capabilities
  • ABAQUS, S-Frame, Foran, MathCAD, and Excel
  • Undertake structural hand analysis and report writing
  • Interpret and apply results from FEA and CAD-based tools
  • Work with engineering schematics and steel structure standards
  • Familiarity with British Standards (BS5950) preferred
  • Experience in Defence, Submarines, Civil Engineering, or Oil & Gas sectors
