Graduate Intern (Engineering / Manufacturing Sector)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Flexible start, Mon-Thurs 9-3, Fri 9-11)
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Contract: 12-month FTC (Potential for extension based on performance)

This is a salaried, paid internship. This would require you to relocate to the area for the 12-month period.
About the Role
Are you a proactive, data-savvy graduate with a passion for engineering, business, or science? We're seeking Graduate Interns to join our dynamic team within the High Voltage / Power Engineering sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple departments, supporting engineering work, planning, project management, and production efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior engineers and project managers with planning, data management, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with shop floor teams to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Assist in managing high-profile projects, including international collaborations with Brail and Malaysia.
  • Work under the guidance of experienced professionals, gaining exposure to a range of engineering disciplines.
  • Compile reports, chase deliverables, and maintain project timelines.

What You Bring:

  • A degree in Engineering, Business, or Science (placement year students are welcome).
  • Strong data management skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work closely with both shop floor teams and senior management.
  • A proactive attitude, with the ability to think quickly and adapt to changing project needs.
