BAE Systems is seeking a Risk Manager or Project Manager with experience in risk management for a 6-month contract role in Barrow in Furness.
The position offers an hourly rate of £63.40 Umbrella (INSIDE IR35) and requires candidates to have proven experience in project risk management.
The role involves leading risk activities, maintaining risk registers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Candidates should possess a strong understanding of project management tools and governance frameworks, as well as familiarity with scheduling tools and Microsoft Office.
Applicants must be BPSS and SC cleared and are expected to work 37 hours per week, with a presence on-site for 2 days per fortnight.

Lead risk and project control processes across work packages or small projects
Maintain and manage risk registers and mitigation strategies
Support planning, scheduling, and stakeholder reporting
Apply appropriate delivery methods (waterfall or agile)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform project decisions
Contribute to improving project controls practices

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in project risk management and controls
Strong understanding of PM tools and governance frameworks
Familiar with IBRs, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office
Able to work independently and guide junior team members
