Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Consultant- Nuclear Safety, ideally with a background in the nuclear or defence sector to be engaged on a permanent basis in Barrow with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
What you'll be doing:
- Act as safety engineering lead, providing recommendations through analysis to improve the safety engineering performance and delivery of departmental outputs
- Facilitating the build and commissioning delivery programme through innovative engineering solutions and problem solving
- Ensuring the maintenance of design intent during the build and commissioning
- Advise and conduct Intelligent Customer duties regarding documentation, advice and services provided to the business
- Supporting assessment of design changes
- Assessing build maturity for entry into subsequent build phases
- Providing technically sound challenges to existing requirements
- Writing and presenting reports to communicate nuclear safety matters to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree Qualified Engineering/Physical Science discipline; Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry, Physics
- Knowledge of the nuclear industry and Nuclear Regulations
- Previous exposure to Engineering Lifecycle
- Proven experience of justifying design change
Desirable:
- Proven technical report writing skills
- Presentation skill
