Morson are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to support various projects for our defence client in Barrow-in-Furness. Based within test and commissioning you would be supporting various projects to enable material availability. This role will require the ability to assess and problem solve to support the effective allocation of work. You will liaise with several stakeholders across multiple contracts. Expect to attend and present within meetings to report project progession, escalate issues and risks working collaboratively across departments to ensure successful project delivery.
The role is being offered on an initial 6 month contract, with the possibility of an extension or permanent conversion. The role is full time onsite in Barrow-in-Furness and can pay a rate of £47 per hour PAYE or £63.40 per hour Umbrella inside IR35.

Responsibilities
- Undertake scope assessment and work allocation.
- Identify, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project.
- Agree project approach with stakeholders, and prepares realistic plans, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate.
- Perform advanced project reporting & scheduling.
- Manage the full project lifecycle to ensure that the needs of the customers continue to be met and that financial and other benefits are achieved.
- Ability to lead on varying complexity projects and where applicable apply lifecycle management.
- Collaborate and support with engineering to ensure project delivery in line with programme timings.
- Provide technical support to team members.
- Responsible for the review and allocation of project scope.
Requirements
- Experience of Project Management in an engineering environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of PM policies, processes, procedures and systems.
- Experience working with supply chain and procurement strategies.
- Able to analyse information to develop solutions and implementation approaches.
- An ability to gather information to support development of solutions and of implementation approaches.
- A comprehensive understanding of how engineering teams integrate with others teams & projects in order to achieve objectives.
- Diplomacy and negotiation skills.
- A University Degree, or a substantial amount of practical knowledge gained through experience.
- PM Qualification such as the APM Project Management Qualification.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
