We are currently seeking a dynamic History Teacher to join a school in Cumbria on a long-term basis, starting immediately. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and informative History lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; experience with KS5 is advantageous.
  • Utilise strong subject knowledge to enhance student learning and meet curriculum standards.
  • Maintain effective classroom management skills to foster a conducive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate reliability and commitment to the educational development of students.
  • Serve as a positive role model, embodying qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 experience is beneficial.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with robust subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
