Overview
Our client, who are the leading manufacturer in the sustainable materials sector, is seeking a Quality, Health & Safety (QHS) Coordinator to join its team in Barry, South Wales. This site-based role will support the development and implementation of quality, health, safety, and environmental standards across the manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
Quality
- Support the maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001
- Assist with internal and external audits and manage corrective actions
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Develop and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions
- Train staff on quality procedures and monitor compliance
Health & Safety
- Contribute to risk assessments and the implementation of Health & Safety policies
- Perform safety inspections and support incident investigations
- Ensure accurate safety reporting (e.g. RIDDOR) and maintain documentation
- Coordinate toolbox talks and safety training
- Promote a strong safety culture across the site
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar certification preferred (if the candidate does not already hold HSE certification, must demonstrate a willingness to attain it with the support of the Company)
- Internal auditor certification (ISO 9001/ISO 45001) desirable
- Experience in a QHSE role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and best practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and QHSE software/tools
