Our client has been a charity for over 20 years, providing furniture at low cost for people in need, and encouraging reuse of items that would have been disposed of. If you are passionate about using your energy and skills to help people. we need people who are flexible and willing to help out with any tasks across the organisation. You will be supported, but not micro-managed, so you must be happy to take the initiative.

Administration

Manager Duties

Shop organising

Customer service

Reporting to the CEO

Managing the phones

Taking calls from people who wish to donate furniture and organising collections

Organising the van schedule (collections and deliveries)

Keep the Shop tidy and safe (with help from our delivery driver)

Ensure that the filing is in order

Banking

There will also be opportunity to get involved in online selling of furniture.

Expected to be on the Vans if short staffed as a small team

Online sales with the growth of the Online Auction

Essential Skills

A people person able to make people feel comfortable and valued

Experience of working in a Shop / office to the extent that you can carry out most of your tasks without supervision.

Excellent Microsoft Office skills

Willingness to learn new systems and skills

Ability to be highly flexible

Self-Management

Driving licence (Essential)

Experience of online selling (Facebook, eBay, ecommerce, etc)

Auction dealings

Qualifications

We are open minded in regards to qualifications. What is most important is that you are a genuine, warm person, with relevant experience, and the drive and passion to push forwards so that we can help more people.

The successful candidate will need to have a DBS check (at no cost to them)

The role is Permanent and there is a probationary period of 6 months.
