On behalf of The Viking Centre, Barton-upon-Humber, we are seeking an experienced Youth Worker to join their fun and innovative team, helping to make a difference in the lives of young people.

You will be working directly with children and young people aged 8 and upwards, supporting the Youth Mentor to deliver a programme of weekly events and activities. The role is focused on inspiring, encouraging, and empowering young people to reach their full potential and become active members of the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Youth Mentor in delivering weekly youth activities and events.
  • Engage positively with young people to encourage participation and growth.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working with young people aged 8–18.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A good understanding of the issues faced by young people in the community.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices.
  • Experience of working in a busy, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (essential due to the nature of the role).
Working Hours:
  • Monday: 5:15pm – 7:15pm
  • Thursday: 5:15pm – 7:15pm
