Job DescriptionAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated finance professional to join a dynamic NHS organisation as a Finance Officer.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for providing financial insight, business partnering, and strategic advice across transformation programmes and corporate services. You’ll lead a high-performing team, influence decision-making at executive level, and ensure strong financial control in the delivery of innovative service models.
Key Responsibilities-
Lead financial business partnering for transformation and corporate directorates

Provide strategic financial guidance, modelling, and reporting to senior leadership

Support the delivery of cost improvement and efficiency programmes

Manage and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of high performance

Ensure compliance with financial governance, audit, and NHS regulatory requirements

Deputise for the Associate Director of Finance - Transformation where required

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enable effective financial planning

Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience

Substantial experience working in senior finance roles within the NHS or public sector

Strong background in financial planning, budgeting, and business case development

Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage finance teams

Excellent communication and influencing skills with non-finance stakeholders

Ability to work strategically while managing operational detail

Skilled in presenting complex financial data clearly and effectively

Experience with NHS tendering, commissioning, and shared services

Familiarity with Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs) and NHS procurement regulations
-
Experience delivering transformation or efficiency programmes in a healthcare setting
