Head of Operations – Large Format Print
Basildon, Essex
We’re working with a long-established and forward-thinking large format print manufacturer who are seeking an experienced Head of Production Operations to take the reins of their busy print facility.
This is a newly created position within the business following an internal restructure — designed to strengthen operational efficiency and bring clear direction across production and supporting departments.
The Role
You’ll lead day-to-day production and logistics operations, overseeing multiple shifts and a sizeable team responsible for delivering high-quality large format graphics and display work.
With a strong focus on workflow, process and structure, this role will suit someone who thrives on bringing organisation and calm to a fast-paced, high-output environment. You’ll act as the operational bridge between production and the wider business, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of large format print production, finishing and logistics operations
- Drive efficiency through improved workflow, scheduling and resource management
- Lead and develop department managers and shift leads across day and night teams
- Maintain high quality standards while meeting demanding client deadlines
- Champion Health & Safety and promote a culture of continuous improvement
- Use production data and workflow systems to track performance and deliver measurable results
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and project delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior production or operational leadership role within a large format print print environment
- Deep understanding of large format print processes, materials and finishing techniques
- A strong operational mindset — someone who can bring structure, consistency and accountability to a busy floor
- Confident, people-focused leader with a calm, solution-driven approach
- Commercially aware and able to balance the bigger picture with day-to-day operations
