The Opportunity
A well-established and growing engineering business is seeking an experienced Senior Sales & Business Development Manager to join their team and help drive the next stage of commercial growth.This is a hands-on, front-line sales role — perfect for someone who wants to be out in the field, building strong customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and closing meaningful deals. With a clear focus on the renewable energy space (specifically biogas and related process industries), this role offers autonomy, responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact.________________________________________
Key Responsibilities
• Drive new business and expand existing customer relationships across the UK• Sell a range of technical solutions including gas analysis, instrumentation, and desulphurisation systems• Manage your own pipeline, from lead generation through to negotiation and close• Meet clients face-to-face and attend site visits where required• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery and ongoing support________________________________________
Markets & Products
This role is focused on the biogas sector, which sits within the wider renewable energy market. The company provides high-performance technical solutions for applications such as:
• Process instrumentation• Gas analysis systems• Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) desulphurisation• Gas flow, oxygen, and nitrogen generation• Full lifecycle support: installation, commissioning, and maintenance________________________________________
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical sales ability with commercial drive and integrity. You’ll be a confident communicator who is comfortable with autonomy, understands the sales cycle, and knows how to build lasting relationships in complex B2B environments.
Essential Experience:
• Proven B2B technical sales experience (preferably in instrumentation, gas systems, or process equipment)• Background in sectors such as renewable energy, biogas, or industrial gases• Sound understanding of engineering concepts• Proven ability to generate and convert new business opportunities• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle________________________________________
