Fabrication Designer / CAD Designer

A leading fabrication company are searching for aDesigner / CAD Designer, based in Basildon, Essex.
TheDesigner for the fabrication departmentwill produce detailed drawings required for the manufacturing of their bespoke items.
Working closely with the sales team and factory foreman to ensure the high quality of drawings for commerical bespoke hospitality designs.
Job Responsibilities
The Designer is required to liaise with customers, architects, designers, M&E companies as well as all others within the company to provide an effective design and technical service.
Design, prototype, implement, test and troubleshoot Inventor features according to project definition.
You will need experience usingSolid WorksandRadan,as well asCAD Designto offer additional support on their projects.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce scaled plans, sections, elevations, schematics, and detail drawings from external and internal sources.
- Produce fabrication designs for factory to create bespoke manufactured items.
- Produce 3D visualisations.
- Scanning and copying drawings for distribution to designers, clients, and contractors.
- Occasional site visits to take site dimensions and gain experience.
- Knowledge of general architecture building layouts.
- To carry out any other duties which are appropriate to the position (i.e. design meetings, chasing suppliers, etc).
You will also support with:
- Learn to produce quotation in bespoke estimating package incorporated within Sage 200 for fabrication as well as following up with client quotes to ensure information is correct
- Once approved put together all relevant information, i.e. drawings, quotes, client approval confirmation within a pack for supply to the project co-ordinator.
- To notify and discuss with the relevant team individual errors, discrepancies in information and drawings during the process of production of quotations.
