Solar PV Technical (Office Based)
30k-35k Basic Salary (neg depending on experience) + Pension
Location: - Basildon / Essex
Alecto Recruitment Ltd are currently seeking an office based Solar PV Engineer to join a growing and well established client of ours within the Solar PV and Renewable Energy industry.
To be considered you'll need to live commutable to Basildon, Essex and you'll need to have previous industry experience and with Solar PV systems. This opportunity could suit someone who has previously been on the tools and out in the field but now looking to step into an office based position.
The main purpose of the role will be to provide technical and remote support, helping customers resolve issues and any technical faults without the need for an engineer to visit the property. This will include support for Solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and optimisation hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle customer support calls and emails, diagnosing faults remotely.
- Use monitoring portals and manufacturer tools to troubleshoot and fix issues (firmware updates, configuration changes, connectivity fixes).
- Advise customers on system optimisation for maximum efficiency and tariff benefits.
- Escalate cases requiring site visits and prepare job details for engineers.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to internal knowledge base.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience and knowledge with solar PV/inverters/battery storage or similar electrical systems.
- Strong diagnostic skills and ability to resolve issues remotely.
- Good understanding of PV fundamentals.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Opportunity could suit an ex-field based engineer, who now wants an office based role.
