Warehouse Supervisor — Basildon (Mon-Fri, No Weekends)
Salary: £32,500 | Full-time | On-site | Secure Site Role
A well-established logistics and freight business in Basildon is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to support its growing operations. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in warehouse management who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys leading from the front. You’ll be working with a close-knit team where attention to detail, safety, and accountability are core to the company culture.
Essential Requirements (Please Read Carefully):
- Full UK driving licence (required for in-house vehicle shunter training — HGV not needed)
- Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (minimum 3000kg); Flexi FLT is a plus
- Clean DBS check — required prior to employment
- Proof of right to work in the UK
- UK nationals: passport or birth certificate NI proof
- Non-UK nationals: current immigration status (no sponsorship available)
- Stable work history (no gaps preferred)
- Must complete basic arithmetic, spelling, and attention-to-detail assessments at interview
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring all freight is handled safely and securely
- Supervising a team of operatives and maintaining adherence to company procedures
- Managing loading and unloading of containers with attention to groupage logistics
- Ensuring cargo is properly documented and any damages or shortages are reported
- Maintaining forklift equipment, completing daily/weekly checks, and ensuring warehouse cleanliness
- Participating in alternating shift coverage:
- Early: 07:00-15:30
- Mid: 09:00-17:30
- Late: 11:30-20:00
- Flexibility is important based on operational needs.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 4 years of warehouse experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role
- A stable employment history — reliability matters in this secure role
- Strong attention to detail — this is absolutely essential
- Experience with container loading/unloading and groupage
