Shipping company with a worldwide reach and over 35 years in the industry are seeking an experienced Ocean Export Operator to join their team in Basildon.

The Ocean Export Operator will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of deep-sea export shipments from start to finish. This includes managing sailing schedules, coordinating with shipping lines, warehouses, and carriers, preparing and submitting required shipping documents, and ensuring proper communication across internal teams and with customers. The role requires a keen eye for detail, effective communication skills, and a strong understanding of ocean export operations to meet company deadlines and KPIs.

  • Sailing Schedule Management:
    • Update and maintain the PRC sailing schedule form accurately.
    • Ensure that sailing schedules are uploaded correctly in the Phoenix system.
  • Shipping Line Coordination:
    • Make bookings with shipping lines to ensure containers are scheduled for departure.
    • Submit provisional and final DGNs to the shipping line.
    • Submit (VGM) details to the shipping line.
  • Warehouse & Container Coordination:
    • Book and coordinate container loading/haulage with the warehouse team.
    • Transfer cargo from outer warehouses to the loading warehouse as required.
  • Container and Load Planning:
    • Associate UCRs to MUCRs and close the MUCRs.
    • Provide the carrier with the MUCR and ensure accurate load planning.
    • Submit and finalize the load plan for each shipment.
  • Documentation & File Management:
    • Submit MBL instructions in a timely manner.
    • Prepare and check container settlements.
    • Ensure all pre-alert documents are sent to clients and relevant stakeholders on time.
  • Daily Monitoring & Communication:
    • Monitor the EMT dashboard on a daily basis.
    • Liaise with sales teams and customers to fill low-volume containers and optimize container utilization.
  • Customer Service & Issue Resolution:
    • Communicate professionally and efficiently when dealing with client expectations and resolving issues promptly.
