Maintenance Engineer



We are expanding our workforce and have an exciting opportunity to join our Basildon team as a Maintenance Engineer.

We are excited to be working with a market leading manufacturing company who are expanding their workforce. They have a new vacancy for an experienced Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the equipment and processes that allow the business to run efficiently, identifying potential problems early before they cause failures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General maintenance for site & facility
  • Machine repair covering Makino/Mazak/Matsuura/Okuma
  • Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) to cover all machining centres
  • Running machine capability studies
  • Arranging and managing repairs/machine breakdowns with contractors
  • Planning and scheduling machine servicing
  • Planning and scheduling calibration for inspection electronic measuring equipment
  • LOLER safety equipment checks on all lifting equipment
  • Raising purchase orders and negotiating prices
  • Budget management

Person:

  • Experience in Engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Good machine repair knowledge
  • Experience and skills in set-up of precision assemblies, the use of machine tools, fault finding, and problem solving
  • Geometric checks on work centres (desirable)
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
