Maintenance Engineer Precision Engineering Basildon

Talent Media is working in partnership with a forward-thinking company in the precision engineering industry to recruit a dedicated Maintenance Engineer for their Basildon site.

Location: Basildon
Hours: 37 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday rotating shifts

Purpose of the Role:

Youll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of all machinery and facilities. This role focuses on proactive maintenance, identifying faults before they become failures, and supporting business efficiency through hands-on technical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct general maintenance across the site and facilities
  • Repair and maintain machines (Makino, Mazak, Matsuura, Okuma)
  • Execute Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) across all machining centres
  • Run machine capability studies and performance evaluations
  • Coordinate and manage repair work and breakdown response with contractors
  • Plan and schedule servicing and calibration for both machines and inspection equipment
  • Perform LOLER safety checks on all lifting equipment
  • Raise purchase orders, negotiate pricing, and manage maintenance budgets

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Proven engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Sound knowledge of machine repair techniques and precision assemblies
  • Skilled in fault finding, setup, and diagnostic testing
  • Desirable: Experience conducting geometric checks on work centres
