Job Title: Behaviour Mentor (SEMH Support)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
TeacherActive are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to work with pupils requiring SEMH support in a lovely school in Basildon. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives and help them reach their full potential.
About the role:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to access learning and develop positive behaviour strategies
- Building trusting relationships to foster confidence and independence
- Assisting with social and emotional development through tailored activities
- Working closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals
- Providing a safe and supportive environment for pupils to thrive
The ideal candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is preferred
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to individual needs and remain positive under pressure
- Flexible, reliable, and committed to making a difference
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Relevant qualifications or experience in supporting children (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Youth Work) is advantageous
