Cover Supervisor

Are you passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience? We are seeking reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to join secondary schools across Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced educators looking to make a difference in local schools.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular class teacher. You'll manage classroom behaviour, deliver pre-prepared lessons, and ensure pupils stay on task with their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences
  • Ensure a positive and respectful learning environment
  • Distribute and explain cover work as set by the teacher
  • Maintain classroom discipline using school policies
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff after lessons

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths); a degree is desirable
  • Previous experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
