We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Basildon seeking a dedicated General Science Teacher to join their team from January to cover a maternity leave. This is an excellent long-term opportunity to teach across KS3–KS4 within a supportive and forward-thinking science department.
Role Overview:

Teach General Science across KS3–KS4 following the school’s curriculum

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that support progress and scientific curiosity

Assess and monitor attainment, providing constructive feedback and targeted interventions

Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment activities
-
Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes learning and high expectations
About You:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) or equivalent

Experience teaching General Science at secondary level

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Organised, adaptable, and committed to raising attainment

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
