Capital Accountant | Global BusinessBasingstoke (Hybrid Working)Up to £50,000 + Benefits

Are you a qualified (or exam-qualified) accountant with a strong foundation in capital accounting and fixed asset reporting? We’re working with a global business to recruit a Capital Accountant to join their high-performing finance team based in Basingstoke.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure reporting, and lease management across multiple entities. You’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and driving improvements across capital-related processes in a dynamic, international environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage end-to-end capital accounting processes, including additions, disposals, and transfers
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accurate depreciation postings
  • Reconcile fixed assets and capital work-in-progress (CWIP) accounts monthly
  • Ensure all capital expenditure is accurately recorded and aligned with company policy
  • Support lease accounting in line with IFRS 16, including calculations and reporting
  • Collaborate with project and operational teams to track and monitor capital projects
  • Assist with internal and external audits related to fixed assets and capital reporting
  • Identify and implement process improvements within capital accounting
  • Support the Finance Manager and wider finance team with ad hoc analysis and reporting

What we’re looking for:

  • Fully qualified or exam-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Proven experience in capital or fixed asset accounting, ideally within a large or international organisation
  • Solid understanding of IFRS, including IFRS 16 (leases)
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, process-focused mindset
  • Experience with ERP systems and Excel for fixed asset tracking and reporting
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
